Science and Management Resources, IncThe primary purpose of this position is to perform clerical, administrative, and technical data-entry duties associated with IWGCP maintenance management utilizing the Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC). The incumbent serves as the central point of contact for the initiation, tracking, updating, and reconciliation of Maintenance Service Requests (SRs) within GCSS-MC. The position requires a thorough practical knowledge of Marine Corps ground equipment maintenance policies, supply procedures, and the specific transactional workflows of the GCSS-MC Maintenance and Supply modules. Major Duties and Responsibilities 1. GCSS-MC Maintenance Service Request (SR) Management Initiation & Intake: Receives physical maintenance request documentation (e.g., NAVMC 1348’s, DD1149’s, and defect reports) from enterprise supplies and maintenance technicians (Armorers). Translates physical records into digital Service Requests (SRs) in GCSS-MC, ensuring correct nomenclature, serial numbers, National Stock Numbers (NSNs), and TAMCNs are utilized. Service Request Lifecycle Management: Manages the active lifecycle of all maintenance service requests. Enters and updates critical fields including: Failure and Damage codes. Maintenance Action Codes (MAC). Operational status changes (e.g., Deadrun, Degraded, Operational). Labor hour logging for organic maintenance personnel. Status Tracking & Updates: Constantly monitors and updates the status of open SRs. Inputs technical inspection results, corrective action narratives, and preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) completions as directed by Marine Corps Systems Command. Closing & Archiving: Verifies that all maintenance actions are completed, Gages are installed or accounted for, and quality control checks are signed off before formally closing Service Requests in GCSS-MC. Archives records in accordance with Marine Corps orders. 2. Parts, Materials, and Requisition Integration Requisition Tracking: Tracks the status of Gage exchanges utilizing internal GCSS-MC status codes (e.g., ESD, EDD, shipping tracking). Communicates directly with the Unit Supply Section (S-4/commodity supply) regarding back-ordered Gages and long lead-time items affecting readiness. Gage Reconciliation: Regularly cross-references physical Gages received at the IWGCP with GCSS-MC system receipts. Ensure that Gages issued to a Service Request are properly logged and returned to inventory. 3. Maintenance Reporting and Reconciliation Report Generation: Runs, formats, and distributes key GCSS-MC reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Key reports include the Maintenance Production Report (MPR), Equipment Status Report (ESR), Parts Requisition Status, and active Service Request reports. Readiness Data Support: Assists the Maintenance Management Officer (MMO) and Maintenance/Supply Chief in compiling maintenance readiness metrics for Command-level briefing materials. 4. Administrative and Clerical Support Maintains the physical and digital filing systems for the maintenance section, including historical equipment record folders (Slammer files) and calibration certificates. Assists in training junior military or civilian personnel on basic GCSS-MC navigation and data entry standards when needed or requested. Performs routine clerical duties such as preparing correspondence, maintaining office supplies, and monitoring emails for incoming maintenance requests or policy updates. Knowledge Required by Position Knowledge of GCSS-MC: Comprehensive, practical knowledge of the GCSS-MC system, specifically the Maintenance and Supply modules. Ability to navigate complex menus, execute transactional commands, search parts catalogs, link supply requisitions to service requests, and troubleshoot minor system errors.
