Maintenance Supervisor
Windigo LogisticsJob Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor will serve as an on-site leader for all maintenance functions. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising all facility and activities of an assigned work team on a shift basis by directing assigned associates in the maintenance department in a manner consistent with service and cost objectives. Duties/Responsibilities o Embrace the concepts of maintenance excellence and lead the implementation of maintenance excellence programs at the site. o Provide feedback, daily direction on work assignments. o Provide excellent communication and coordination with the site operations team. o Manage Capital Projects, define work scope and drive Contractor accountability and work within budget o Ensure work force is using good maintenance and safe practices o Ensure proper PPE is used and available o Order necessary inventory of parts and supplies o Maintenance inventory o Troubleshoots and audit work that is performed o Control contractors while on site o Work with operations to ensure scheduled work is performed with minimum impact to operations. o Help determine the urgency & prioritization of work o Control/manage work force during nights and weekends o Maintain work schedules for maintenance employees o Prepare and submit payroll weekly, PTO forms, etc. o Schedule vacation time and manage other time off of assigned department o 75% of work time should be supervising directly o Effectively use a maintenance management computer program o Resolve complaints consulting with manager for best resolution- o Participate and contribute in weekly safety walks. o Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: o Ability to perform the same work duties as those supervised or performs more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance. o Ability to supervise employees. o Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. o Positively manage change o Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individuals (written & verbal) o Ability to pay close attention to detail. o Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with staff. o Must be able to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with co-workers without exhibiting behavioral extremes: perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others: and respond appropriately to criticism from a manager. o Willingness to develop a mentoring relationship in order to contribute experience, skills, and wisdom to subordinate employees for their development. o Receptive to management development suggestions and willing to seek additional knowledge to facilitate job growth. o Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. o Must have very strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines. o Experience working in a union environment a real plus. Tools and Technology Required: o Microsoft Office Suite o Experience with Facility Maintenance Management Software, including inventory management, work order processing, and parts requisition.
