As the Maintenance Mechanic, you will maintain and repair terminal operating equipment, fixtures, and vehicles through preventative maintenance tickets, work orders, and verbal requests, while fabricating additions to the facility and following all plant safety rules. What you will be doing You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of terminal operating equipment, fixtures, and vehicles at the STC Cleaning Station Houston, using preventative maintenance tickets, work orders, and verbal instructions to plan and execute your work. On a daily basis, you will use your mechanical skills and tools to keep pumps, valves, meters, compressors, motors, and other equipment running reliably, while also fabricating additions to the facility as needed and employing industry-accepted safe work practices and plant safety rules. You will interact with the Cleaning Station Manager, vendors, and occasionally contractor crews, working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions with the appropriate PPE and safety procedures. Key responsibilities Uses knowledge and tools to repair and maintain various operating equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, valves, meters, compressors, motor, and other. Operates construction equipment as needed. Utilizes all necessary PPE and applies safe work practices including lock-out-tag-out, first line break, hot work/safe work permits, OSHA right-to-know, etc. Inspects all work after it is done, signs off on appropriate paperwork, communicates job completion. Assist in compiling and organizing a complete spare parts inventory. Organizes and complete a preventative maintenance plan to ensure extended equipment life. Prepares a detailed material list, manpower and tool requirements to complete a job assignment. Acquires working knowledge of terminal operations, waste water, steam boilers, flares, plant electrical code, meters, etc. May supervise a contractor crew to accomplish work assignments. He/she shall inspect such work for correct, complete and safe installation or repair. Meet with vendors to acquire new skills or technical knowledge alternate solutions to recurring problems, and cost reduction new technologies. Maintains and repairs the terminal operating equipment, fixtures, vehicles, etc. through the issuance and receipt of Preventative maintenance (PM) tickets, work orders and verbal requests. Fabricates any necessary additions to the facility. Employs industry accepted safe work practices and follows all plant safety rules. Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of related work experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to coordinate and complete tasks. Has proven to be dependable and holds both an excellent safety and quality record; Has been trained and is capable of operating the fork lift (5,000 LB) and the Yard Truck (OTTAWA), and other facility equipment (construction or other.
