Maintenance Manager
ConfidentialPosition Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance and facility operations for a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility operating approximately 30 injection molding machines ranging from 50 to 1,300 tons, secondary operations equipment, automated assembly lines, robotics, material handling systems, and facility infrastructure. This position is responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies that maximize equipment up time, improve reliability, reduce production downtime, and support operational goals. The Maintenance Manager owns the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), maintenance planning, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, spare parts inventory management, building maintenance, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Manager provides leadership to maintenance technicians and contractors while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and customer requirements. Duties & Responsibilities Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance personnel. Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, & accountability standards. Develop multiskilled maintenance technicians through training & mentoring programs. Manage staffing requirements, scheduling, overtime, and contractor activities. Foster a culture of safety, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for injection molding machines, end of arm tooling, robotics and automation systems, conveyors/material handling systems. Drive equipment reliability improvements through TPM, predictive maintenance, and reliabilitycentered maintenance methodologies. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) Support production during equipment breakdowns and critical manufacturing issues. Serve as system owner and administrator for the facility's CMMS. Lead implementation, rollout, training, and continuous improvement of CMMS processes. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and workflows within the CMMS. Ensure all maintenance work orders are accurately created, prioritized, assigned, completed, and documented. Utilize CMMS data to identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities. Generate and present maintenance performance reports to management. Ensure accuracy of equipment assets, PM frequencies, parts lists, and maintenance records. Establish and maintain a structured spare parts management program. Determine critical spare parts requirements based on equipment risk and downtime exposure. Maintain accurate inventory levels while controlling maintenance spending. Manage purchasing requests for maintenance materials, tooling components, and replacement equipment. Develop relationships with suppliers and service providers. Conduct periodic inventory audits and cycle counts. Ensure proper identification, storage, labeling, and organization of maintenance inventory. Partner closely with Production, Tooling, Engineering, and Quality teams to support manufacturing objectives. Provide immediate support for production interruptions and equipment failures. Participate in launch activities, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications & Requirements Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred. Trade school certification or equivalent technical training preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 35 years of supervisory or management maintenance experience. Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Experience supporting injection molding operations and automated assembly systems highly preferred.
