JOB DESCRIPTION CLASSIFICATION: Maintenance Buyer EFFECTIVE DATE: 10/09/2026 REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager DEPARTMENT: Maintenance EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the timely delivery of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, spare parts, equipment, tools, and services required to support the safe and efficient operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned: Purchase maintenance supplies, replacement parts, mechanical and electrical components, tools, lubricants, equipment, and outside maintenance services. Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes. Maintain accurate purchase orders, supplier confirmations, pricing records, and purchasing documentation. Monitor inventory levels of maintenance parts and supplies to ensure stock availability. Partner with Maintenance to identify equipment components and establish appropriate stocking strategies. Maintain purchasing records needed for internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, contractors, and service providers. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma. 3+ years’ experience in food manufacturing 3 + years’ experience in purchasing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, production equipment parts, etc. Experience working with ERP systems, inventory management platforms and utilizing COGZ computer system. Be able to work independently or in a team environment Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects at the same time Strong organizing skills and ability to meet deadlines PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to withstand prolonged walking and standing Able to withstand changes in temperature -- up to -20º F Able to lift up to 50 pounds HOURS: Days and hours vary Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities
