Position Summary The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for maintaining and repairing hotel facilities to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and associates. This position performs routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs while responding promptly to maintenance requests and assisting with property improvement projects as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs, including painting, plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, HVAC maintenance, and other building maintenance tasks. Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure equipment and facilities are in good working condition. Assist with preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and maintain property standards. Respond promptly and professionally to guest and associate maintenance requests, resolving issues in a timely manner. Complete maintenance activities with minimal disruption to hotel operations and the guest experience. Follow established safety procedures and comply with applicable health, fire, and building codes and regulations. Maintain accurate records of work orders, preventive maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs. Monitor maintenance supplies and assist with inventory management to ensure necessary materials are available. Coordinate with other hotel departments to address maintenance needs and support daily operations. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor or Chief Engineer with renovations, upgrades, special projects, and other assigned tasks. Participate in team meetings and contribute to maintaining effective maintenance procedures and property standards. Maintain a professional appearance and comply with company grooming, uniform, and dress code policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school training, certification, or a degree in a related maintenance or engineering field preferred. Previous maintenance experience preferred, particularly in a hotel or hospitality environment. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance. Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot equipment, and complete repairs with attention to detail. Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills for completing work orders, maintaining records, and tracking inventory. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or varying schedules as operational needs require. Physical Requirements The Maintenance Team Member must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment, tools, and supplies as required. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive movements.
