Job Overview Position Type: Independent Contractor Location: kenai Compensation: $180 per day Schedule: Part-time or full-time options, typically 4 to 6 days per week. Key Responsibilities Sort and Load: Organize mail and packages by delivery sequence at the local postal facility before heading out. Deliver Safely: Transport and drop off letters, flats, and heavy parcels to residential and commercial addresses across diverse Alaskan terrain and weather. Collect and Log: Pick up outgoing mail, secure required delivery signatures for certified or insured items, Navigate Harsh Conditions: Drive safely on ice, snow, gravel roads, or unpaved rural tracks while maintaining a reliable delivery schedule. Vehicle & Equipment Requirements Vehicle Type: Must provide a full-size SUV, minivan, or pickup truck with adequate cargo space to secure and transport high volumes of packages. Capability: Highly recommended to have 4WD or AWD to safely navigate Alaskan winter road conditions. Maintenance: Contractor is responsible for all vehicle maintenance, repairs, fuel, and required auto insurance. Qualifications & Physical Requirements Driver’s License: Must hold a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy mail sacks and parcels (up to 50–70 lbs) and work outdoors in extreme sub-zero or inclement weather. Independence: Strong time-management skills and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Background Check: Must pass a standard criminal background check and drug screening.
