Job Title: USPS Subcontract Mail Carrier (Highway Contract Route) Position Type: Subcontractor / Independent Contractor Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly (Paid twice per month) Start Date: October 24, 2026 (Contingent upon contract acquisition) Location: Local Service Area / Assigned Route Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Subcontract Mail Carrier to perform mail delivery and collection services on an assigned route under a United States Postal Service (USPS) Highway Contract Route (HCR). The ideal candidate will have prior USPS experience (such as an RCA, City Carrier, or Mail Handler) and must provide their own reliable, registered, and insured vehicle suitable for mail delivery. Key Responsibilities Sort, load, deliver, and collect mail and packages along the designated contract route in a timely and efficient manner. Drive personal vehicle along assigned routes while following all traffic laws and safety guidelines. Lift, carry, and maneuver mail packages and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs . Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions (heat, rain, snow, cold, etc.). Maintain professional interaction with postal customers and postal personnel. Requirements & Qualifications Prior USPS Experience (Required): Must have previous experience as a USPS Rural Carrier Associate (RCA), Mail Handler for a route, or under a USPS Highway Contract Route (HCR). Vehicle Requirement: Must own and drive a reliable personal vehicle suitable for mail delivery. Insurance & Registration: Must maintain active, current vehicle registration and auto insurance at all times. Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work continuously in all weather environments. Background Check: Must successfully pass a mandatory USPS background check and security clearance. Availability: Must be fully prepared and available to start work on or before October 24, 2026 . Compensation & Contract Terms Pay Frequency: Paid twice per month (semi-monthly). Contingency: Employment offer and start date are strictly contingent upon final contract acquisition and completion of required USPS background screenings. Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
