ConfidentialLUMBER YARD ASSOCIATE / DRIVER Position Overview We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Lumber Yard Associate / Driver. This position combines local delivery driving with hands-on lumber yard operations, including loading and unloading building materials, stocking inventory, and assisting customers. Duties and Responsibilities Delivery & Customer Service Safely and efficiently deliver building materials to customers and job sites while providing exceptional customer service. Verify orders for accuracy and ensure materials are properly loaded and secured before departure. Safely unload and place materials at designated delivery locations. Assist customers with loading building materials into their vehicles. Communicate effectively with customers and yard staff regarding deliveries and order discrepancies. Lumber Yard Operations Receive and verify incoming shipments against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation. Stock, organize, and maintain inventory throughout the lumber yard. Assist with inventory counts and help resolve discrepancies involving receiving, inventory, and deliveries. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lumber yard and work environment. Inspect vehicles and equipment before use and report maintenance or safety concerns. Operate trucks, forklifts, boom trucks, and other equipment safely and responsibly. Assist with additional yard duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements. Previous experience in a lumber yard, building materials, or delivery driving preferred. Forklift and boom truck operating experience preferred; willingness to learn is a plus. Ability to safely handle, load, unload, and secure building materials. Strong commitment to workplace safety and customer service. Skills Dependable, hardworking, and safety conscious. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to consistently lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to handle heavier building materials weighing 100 pounds or more with assistance or appropriate equipment when needed. Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, and perform physical work throughout the day. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Position Details, Compensation & Benefits Employment Type: Full-time or part-time opportunities available. Schedule: Full-time hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Part-time hours are flexible and can be discussed based on availability and business needs.
