Job title : Lumber Dispatcher Pay: Dependent on experience + Bonuses Schedule : Monday-Friday 4:45 am to X pm Location : Donald, Oregon Position Summary The Dispatcher is a leadership position, responsible for coordinating and scheduling the profitable, safe, accurate, and timely delivery of lumber and building materials to job sites and customers. This role serves as a key communication link between drivers, yard operations, sales, and customers to ensure delivery commitments are met while maximizing fleet efficiency and customer satisfaction. Start time: 4:45 am- until complete Qualifications & Skills · Previous dispatch experience, preferably in lumber, building materials, construction, or transportation · Strong understanding of delivery logistics, routing, and job site requirements · Excellent communication and problem-solving skills · Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment · Proficiency with dispatch software, ERP systems, or routing tools (experience with industry-specific systems a plus) · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail · Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, yard staff, and sales teams Duties and Responsibilities · Schedule and dispatch company delivery trucks in an efficient and cost-effective manner · Coordinate daily delivery routes based on order priorities, load sizes, job site requirements, and driver availability · Communicate delivery details clearly to drivers, including job site access, unloading instructions, and safety requirements · Serve as primary point of contact for drivers throughout the day to address delays, changes, or issues · Work closely with yard personnel to ensure materials are staged, loaded accurately, and ready for dispatch · Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to confirm delivery expectations and resolve customer concerns · Monitor delivery progress and proactively adjust routes or schedules as needed · Proactively hold drivers and yard personnel accountable for meeting delivery schedules. Ensure drivers check each load against delivery paperwork before departure, take responsibility for all materials on their truck, and promptly report and resolve shortages, discrepancies, or delays. · Maintain accurate dispatch logs, delivery records, and driver documentation · Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and delivery procedures · Handle will-call, backorders, re-deliveries, and emergency delivery requests as needed Physical Requirements · Office-based position with frequent interaction with yard and driver operations · Occasional exposure to yard conditions including noise, weather, and heavy equipment · Ability to sit, stand, and communicate throughout the workday · Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet What We Offer: · Competitive salary and benefits package. · Opportunities for professional growth and development. · A supportive and dynamic work environment.
