Low Voltage Switchgear Production Supervisor, 1st Shift

This position reports to: Integrated Production Unit Manager __ The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations for Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear and related electrical distribution products. This position ensures the safe, quality-focused, and efficient execution of production schedules while meeting customer delivery commitments. The supervisor provides leadership to production employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The work model for the role is: Onsite in Mebane, NC Key Responsibilities : Prepares annual production budget, oversees progress, and determines actions to cost issues as necessary in order to manage operations within the budget and resources. Develops team members, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations. Develops and executes plans to reduce non-value-added costs, increase revenues, and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates. Collaborates with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes. Focus on ensuring capacity efficiency meets production expectations. Identifying potential gaps and recovery plans when needed. Lead as an example and drive a culture of lean leadership and accountability. Ensures all staff (under scope) understand ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and act accordingly. Provides guidance to the teams and seeks knowledge for their own development and coaching/mentoring of the teams. Qualifications: Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred; with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Or an equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience (Bachelor’s and 3+ years, or HS Diploma and 7+ years). Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, production processes, quality systems, inventory control, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience coordinating production schedules, workforce allocation, and operational priorities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives. Understanding production planning, materials management, and supply chain processes. Experience using ERP systems such as SAP for production reporting, inventory transactions, and operational management. Experience supervising hourly production employees preferred. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and manufacturing best practices preferred. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks within a manufacturing environment. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
