Role Description The Low-Bed Truck Driver (Class A - Manual Transmission) is a full-time, on-site role based in Buena Park, CA. This role is responsible for safely operating low-bed trucks with manual transmission to transport heavy construction equipment and materials to and from job sites. Daily tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and unloading equipment, complying with DOT regulations, and maintaining accurate delivery and vehicle logs. The driver will coordinate with dispatch, project managers, and field crews to support job schedules, follow company safety policies, and represent Ortiz Construction Services professionally on and off the road. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with demonstrated proficiency in manual transmission operation. Strong truck driving skills with experience operating low-bed or similar heavy equipment transport trucks. Ability to safely load, secure, and unload equipment and materials in accordance with company and site safety standards. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices, including hours-of-service and inspection requirements. Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks and drug/alcohol screenings. Familiarity with basic truck maintenance, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and reporting mechanical issues. Ability to read and follow dispatch instructions, maps, and job documentation, and communicate clearly with team members. Physical ability to perform job duties, including climbing onto equipment, handling tie-downs, and working outdoors in varying conditions. Prior experience in construction or heavy equipment transport is preferred. Commitment to safe work practices, reliability, punctuality, and teamwork.
