Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Long Haul Truck Driver role based in Surrey, BC. The Long Haul Truck Driver is responsible for operating heavy trucks over long distances to transport goods safely and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include planning routes and schedules, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, loading and unloading freight as required, and ensuring all cargo is secured properly. The driver will maintain accurate logs and documentation in compliance with DOT and applicable provincial regulations, monitor vehicle performance, and report any maintenance issues. The role also involves communicating with dispatch and customers, adhering to safety procedures, and representing the company professionally on the road and at delivery locations. Qualifications Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class 1 (or equivalent) and strong truck driving experience with heavy vehicles. Candidates should possess skills in safe loading, unloading, and securing freight. Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT regulations and applicable provincial/industry safety standards. Candidates should possess experience operating and maintaining trucks, including conducting inspections and reporting mechanical issues. Additional beneficial qualifications include a clean driving record, ability to work flexible and extended hours, strong time management, and effective communication skills. Experience with long haul or regional routes, familiarity with electronic logging devices, and basic mechanical awareness are assets.
