Long Haul Truck Driver

Job Overview As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you transport freight over long distances, helping ensure goods reach their destinations safely and on schedule. You coordinate with colleagues to support reliable deliveries and keep shipments moving smoothly. Duties Operate a commercial vehicle on long-distance routes and follow safe driving practices. Inspect the truck and freight before, during, and after trips; secure loads and report damage or concerns. Maintain accurate trip, delivery, and vehicle records, and communicate route or schedule updates to colleagues. Use forklifts or other heavy equipment when needed to load, unload, or handle freight, following safe operating procedures. Perform basic automotive checks and identify maintenance issues for prompt attention. Qualifications Required: Practical commercial driving capability, safe freight handling, attention to detail, and clear communication are important for completing routes and documenting deliveries. Preferred: Experience with forklift use, heavy equipment operation, or basic automotive repair can support efficient loading, unloading, and vehicle care.
