Long Haul Truck Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Long Haul Truck Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently over long distances on dedicated routes. The position may require team driving , so candidates must be willing and able to work collaboratively with another driver to complete scheduled trips and meet delivery deadlines. Responsibilities include route planning, vehicle inspections, cargo securement, completing required documentation, and maintaining professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to road safety, reliable service, and compliance with applicable transportation regulations. Duties and Responsibilities Operate a commercial truck to transport freight over long distances on designated and dedicated routes. Participate in team driving assignments and coordinate driving schedules, rest periods, and trip requirements with another driver. Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries while meeting established timelines. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly. Secure and verify cargo and assist with loading or unloading when required. Follow designated routes and use route and delivery information to ensure timely transportation of freight. Maintain accurate trip logs, inspection reports, delivery records, and other required documentation. Comply with traffic laws, hours-of-service requirements, safety procedures, and company policies. Communicate delays, route changes, mechanical issues, and delivery updates to dispatch and relevant contacts. Keep the truck and assigned equipment clean and in good working condition. Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Apply basic automotive knowledge to identify common vehicle issues and assist with routine checks. Maintain professional conduct and cooperate with dispatchers, customers, and fellow drivers throughout each trip. Requirements and Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated. Previous commercial truck driving experience; long-haul experience is preferred. Willingness to work on dedicated long-distance routes and travel away from home for extended periods. Willingness and ability to participate in team driving with another driver. Knowledge of safe driving practices, cargo securement, vehicle inspections, and transportation regulations. Ability to maintain accurate driving logs and other required documentation. Strong communication, time-management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing road, weather, and delivery conditions. Basic automotive repair knowledge and heavy equipment operating experience are considered assets. Ability to meet the physical requirements of cargo handling and securement when required. Proficiency in speaking Hindi and Punjabi. A professional attitude and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service. Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
