Role and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Warehouse Unloader is key to managing the unloading process for incoming shipments. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that products are properly handled, accurately recorded, and stored for future use, contributing to the smooth flow of operations in the warehouse.
• Carefully unload shipments using either manual or mechanical tools to prevent any damage to goods.
• Examine incoming products for damages or discrepancies to confirm they adhere to quality standards.
• Sort and organize products according to company guidelines to ensure efficient inventory management.
• Tag and label items to streamline the sorting and tracking process during subsequent handling stages.
• Work closely with the team to check inventory levels and report any discrepancies or issues in stock.
• Maintain an orderly unloading area to ensure safety and productivity within the warehouse.
• Provide assistance with other warehouse tasks such as loading and unloading as needed.
• Follow established safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure a secure working environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet productivity goals and ensure quality standards are met daily.
Required Skills and Experience:
• A minimum of one year of experience in warehouse, shipping, or receiving roles.
• Basic knowledge of warehouse functions and inventory systems.
• Physical ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in product handling.
• Able to function effectively in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact and collaborate with team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse machinery is desirable.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or barcode scanning technology is advantageous.
• OSHA safety certification or similar safety training is an asset.
