Logistics / Warehouse Assistant Manager Job Description In this role, you will support the Logistics / Warehouse Managerin overseeing the daily warehouse and logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, dispatching, deliveries, and warehouse personnel. You will help ensure that incoming and outgoing shipments are properly coordinated, inventory and shipment records are accurate, warehouse procedures are followed, and operational issues are addressed promptly. You will also assist in supervising and guiding warehouse employees, monitoring work performance, coordinating schedules and workload, and ensuring that daily tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on time. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking a leadership role in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You should be able to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with employees and management, resolve operational concerns, and step in to support the Warehouse Manager whenever needed. Responsibilities Assist in overseeing daily warehouse and logistics operations. Supervise and provide guidance to warehouse and logistics employees during daily operations. Help assign workloads, monitor daily tasks, and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule. Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, deliveries, pickups, transfers, and dispatch activities. Monitor shipment schedules and follow up on expected deliveries, delays, backorders, and pending shipments. Verify shipping and receiving documents for accuracy and completeness. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies. Monitor damaged, missing, impaired, or incorrectly received merchandise and ensure proper documentation and reporting. Coordinate with management, customers, vendors, drivers, and other departments regarding shipment and delivery concerns. Monitor the movement of products between the warehouse, customers, vendors, and company locations. Assist with warehouse scheduling and ensure adequate staffing and operational coverage. Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance of warehouse personnel and report concerns to the Logistics/ Warehouse Manager and HR when necessary. Ensure employees follow warehouse procedures, safety requirements, inventory controls, and company policies. Assist in training and onboarding new warehouse and logistics employees. Provide coaching and guidance to warehouse employees regarding procedures, documentation, inventory handling, and logistics processes. Prepare and review warehouse reports, shipment tracking reports, inventory updates, and other operational reports requested by management. Communicate delays, discrepancies, damages, staffing concerns, or operational issues to the Logitics/ Warehouse Manager and management in a timely manner. Help identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, organization, workflow, and accountability. Assist with inventory reconciliation. Support dispatching and delivery coordination as needed. Assume responsibility for logistics/ warehouse operations in the absence of the Logitics/ Warehouse Manager. Work closely with HR and management regarding staffing, attendance, training, performance, and other employee-related matters. Perform other warehouse, logistics, supervisory, and administrative duties as assigned by management. Requirements Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant warehouse/logistics experience may be considered in place of a degree. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to identify errors or discrepancies in orders, inventory, and shipping documentation. Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
