THE MISSION Astra Core-X (ACX) is developing affordable and capable combined ramjet/rocket technology for the defense of the United States and our allies. We're rapidly bringing this capability to market by pairing the latest manufacturing processes and technology with solid financial backing and the guidance of world-class industry experts and research institutions. Over the past year ACX has grown from a founding team into a roughly 40-person organization standing up its own development production capability out of Broomfield, Colorado and a production/test site in Chugwater, Wyoming. We're mid-build on a production facility and targeting a working pilot line within the next year. At this size, every hire directly shapes how the company runs. Our work exists to make American service members and allied forces safer. We're glad to have teammates who've carried that mission in uniform, and we welcome veterans and transitioning service members to apply. THE ROLE We receive, store, and move Division 1.1 explosives and other regulated materials between our sites, and the person running that needs to know the rules cold. This role owns it. You'll be our primary point of receipt for energetic materials, the person accountable for ATF records and magazine counts, and the qualified driver who moves placarded loads to our Chugwater test site, roughly 140 miles each way, typically one day a week. The rest of your time you'll run receiving, inventory, and internal deliveries in Broomfield. We're looking for someone who has already done this somewhere else: hauled Class 1 under a CDL with hazmat endorsement, kept ATF paperwork audit-ready, and knows when a load isn't going anywhere. You'll help write the procedures as much as follow them, and you'll be the person the team turns to when a regulated-material question comes up. As we scale, this role can grow into a transportation compliance lead or materials management role. We're deliberately small and deliberately fast, and we equip every team — not just engineering — with modern software and AI-assisted tools so a lean group can run like a much bigger one. WHAT YOU'LL DO Serve as the primary receiver for energetic and other regulated materials: verify against shipping papers and purchase orders, inspect, and complete ATF acquisition records before material goes into storage. Own explosives accountability: receipt and disposition records, daily magazine transaction summaries, and physical counts, kept accurate and ready for an ATF compliance inspection at any time. Transport Division 1.1 explosives and other placarded hazmat between our sites in a company vehicle, meeting DOT requirements for shipping papers, placarding, segregation, securement, routing, and attendance. Help build and maintain our hazmat transportation program alongside EHS and the Supply Chain Lead, including the security plan, route plans, training records, and driver qualification files. Run pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, including emergency response equipment, spill kit, fire suppression, and SDS access, and keep trip and vehicle records current. Receive, store, kit, and deliver non-energetic materials, keeping lot and serial numbers, expiration dates, locations, and material status accurate in our inventory system. Run cycle counts and physical inventories, and chase discrepancies to root cause. Follow spill, exposure, and incident procedures, exercise stop-work authority when something isn't right, and escalate immediately. Support ATF, DOT, and customer audits and inspections, and drive corrective actions to closure. WHAT YOU'LL BRING High school diploma or equivalent, plus 5+ years in logistics, warehouse, or materials handling, including at least 3 years transporting placarded hazardous materials. Valid CDL (Class A, B, or C) with hazmat (H) endorsement, a current TSA security threat assessment, DOT medical card, and a clean driving record. Direct experience transporting Class 1 explosives, i…
