Position Overview:

The general responsibilities for the Logistics Technician are to unload, load, and transfer the various products that are manufactured and used at the Houston plant in a manner that is safe and environmentally sound. The various products include, spent acid, fresh acid, oleum, sulfur dioxide, and sulfur. 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Transfer materials to or from process tanks, barges, rail cars, tank trucks, and other specified containers
  • Opening valves, pressuring up tank cars, loading fresh acid, operating pumps, monitoring tank levels, & inspection reports
  • Reviewing/Writing procedures
  • Completing work permits
  • Conducting safety meetings
  • Comply with all department, plant and corporate HSE policies and rules
  • Comply with all regulatory agency requirements
  • Participate in regular safety and toolbox meetings
  • Participate in HAZOPs and PSUSRs as required
  • Maintain high area housekeeping standards
  • Write and follow up on Safety Work Orders
  • Be well-versed in and compliant with all SOPs

Required Qualifications:

  • Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials (TWIC)
  • Mariner’s Certifications (Barge Tankerman’s License) with 3+ years' experience AND/OR 3+ years logistics experience loading/unloading tank trucks, railcars AND/OR Dock Person in Charge (PIC) with 3+ years' experience
  • Safe work attitude
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
