Position Overview:
The general responsibilities for the Logistics Technician are to unload, load, and transfer the various products that are manufactured and used at the Houston plant in a manner that is safe and environmentally sound. The various products include, spent acid, fresh acid, oleum, sulfur dioxide, and sulfur.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Transfer materials to or from process tanks, barges, rail cars, tank trucks, and other specified containers
- Opening valves, pressuring up tank cars, loading fresh acid, operating pumps, monitoring tank levels, & inspection reports
- Reviewing/Writing procedures
- Completing work permits
- Conducting safety meetings
- Comply with all department, plant and corporate HSE policies and rules
- Comply with all regulatory agency requirements
- Participate in regular safety and toolbox meetings
- Participate in HAZOPs and PSUSRs as required
- Maintain high area housekeeping standards
- Write and follow up on Safety Work Orders
- Be well-versed in and compliant with all SOPs
Required Qualifications:
- Transportation Worker’s Identification Credentials (TWIC)
- Mariner’s Certifications (Barge Tankerman’s License) with 3+ years' experience AND/OR 3+ years logistics experience loading/unloading tank trucks, railcars AND/OR Dock Person in Charge (PIC) with 3+ years' experience
- Safe work attitude
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
