We are looking for a full-time non-exempt Logistics Operator. To follow duties on a daily basis as outline by Shipping & Receiving Manager to create a safe and efficient working environment putting the needs of completing duties in a timely manner with the intent of servicing the customer as the priority while maintaining a safe environment. Scheduled Hours: M-F 8:00-4:30 Salary: $31.00 per hour Summary/Objective Lead and coordinate the day-to-day logistics operation, oversee material handling and track performance metrics to ensure efficient shipping and inventory flow with a focus on maintaining all systems, processes, safety, sanitation, quality and customer service policies. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Specific Tasks: Shipping customer orders. Including picking packing and labeling accurately for shipment. Manage daily transactions for inventory control, scan barcodes, update digital logs and check for damage or shortages. Accurate loading of trucks by making sure all paperwork and sanitation requirements of trucks are in order. Receive raw materials and pull samples for QC analysis. Put stock away when released by QC. Make sure that logs, maintenance of equipment, housekeeping, and segregation of materials are kept current. Follow housekeeping schedule as directed. This includes sweeping/mopping floor and other miscellaneous duties as needed. Train certify and apply hazmat shipping procedures and applicable safety protocol. Take a leading role in making sure that the working environment remains a safe and clean environment for you and co-workers. Follow all training and guidelines set up by Silesia Flavors. Contribute to the integration of the SAP ECC system and improve performance for the new Huntley facility. Assist new employees and guide them through the established system and processes to successfully complete daily tasks. Assist with continuous improvement efforts for the new processes established for the new plant. Follow all Security procedures. In addition to the preceding assignments, the incumbent is obligated to carry out individual tasks that, in essence, belong to his/her duties or where this is dictated by company needs Performance of Food Safety or Food Defense responsibilities, including allergen handling protocol. Adherence to Good Manufacturing and Safety requirements. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
