Logistics Support Coordinator

Winpak is seeking a Logistics Support Coordinator based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to join our Traffic Team.

As part of the Traffic Team, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating transportation, shipping, and logistics activities that support efficient order fulfillment and exceptional customer service. This cross-functional role works closely with internal departments, off-site warehouses, carriers, customs partners, and customers to ensure shipments are processed accurately, delivered on time, and compliant with transportation and customs requirements. The Logistics Coordinator also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and helps maintain efficient logistics operations across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Processing & Shipping Coordination

• Process and report customer shipments in real time, ensuring accurate data entry, freight terms, and shipping documentation.
• Coordinate order fulfillment activities with Shipping, Marketing, off-site warehouses, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate shipments.
• Create and manage picklists, bills of lading, packing slips, customs documentation, and shipping notices for both on-site and off-site warehouse shipments.
• Coordinate subcontractor shipments, including transportation arrangements, documentation, and communication between all applicable parties.
• Process domestic and international courier shipments using UPS, FedEx, and other transportation platforms while determining the most effective shipping solutions.
   

Transportation, Freight & Customs

• Obtain and evaluate freight quotations across multiple transportation modes, negotiate with carriers, and select the most cost-effective and service-oriented shipping solutions.
• Review and approve freight terms, Incoterms, in-bond movements, and customs brokerage invoices to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate specialized shipments, including heavy-weight air freight, expedited deliveries, and customer-specific transportation requests.
• Support freight audits, freight accruals, month-end reporting, inbound container coordination, customer returns, supplier pickups, and other transportation-related activities.
   

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate logistics records, standard operating procedures, and the Traffic Service Guide while identifying opportunities to improve processes and documentation.
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications to support daily logistics operations.
• Collaborate effectively with internal departments, warehouse partners, carriers, and external service providers to resolve shipping issues and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Participate in departmental goals, cross-functional initiatives, and continuous improvement activities while providing backup support across the Traffic Department.
   

Required Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Transportation, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain operations.
• Experience coordinating shipments, transportation providers, freight documentation, and order processing in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, freight terms, customs processes, and transportation coordination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ERP or logistics management systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with international shipping, customs documentation, or cross-border logistics.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, customs brokerage processes, and freight auditing.
• Experience using courier platforms such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar transportation management systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

• This position is 100% onsite and is located in Murray Industrial Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
• There is limited bus access to this location
