Description

Role Summary

The Logistics Supply Chain Specialist oversees the movement, storage, and coordination of goods from suppliers to customers. The role blends operational execution with analytical problem-solving, ensuring that inventory, transportation, and vendor processes run efficiently and cost-effectively. The specialist works cross-functionally with procurement, warehouse operations, production, and customer service teams to maintain a resilient and responsive supply chain.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics operations — including inbound materials, outbound shipments, freight scheduling, and carrier communication.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock; collaborate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, forecast demand, and recommend process improvements.
  • Manage vendor and carrier relationships, ensuring service-level agreements, delivery timelines, and cost targets are met. 
  • Negotiate freight rates both spot and longer term bookings. 
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as bills of lading, customs paperwork, shipping manifests, and compliance records.
  • Track shipments and resolve issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Support procurement activities, including sourcing materials, evaluating suppliers, and coordinating purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align logistics activities with production schedules, customer requirements, and business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, transportation laws, and company policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and supply chain resilience.
Requirements

  

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5  years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, freight coordination, and supply chain workflows.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and tools such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor-management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with international logistics, customs, or import/export compliance.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process-improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of demand planning or forecasting tools.
  • Certification such as APICS CPIM/CSCP or CSCMP credentials.
