Position Summary
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate execution of all shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory control activities within a high-volume cable and wire manufacturing environment. This hands-on leader ensures on-time delivery to customers, accurate inbound material receipt, optimal warehouse flow, and inventory accuracy while fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement
Essential Functions

- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of shipper/receivers and material handlers; conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and administer corrective action as needed.
- Create daily work schedules, assign tasks, and adjust staffing to meet fluctuating productivity and shipping demands.
- Oversee outbound shipments (LTL, TL, parcel, export) to achieve on-time delivery goals.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-ups, negotiate spot rates when needed, and maintain carrier scorecards.
- Analyze and monitor freight to ensure optimal carrier selection to improve overall service and reduce total freight costs.
- Manage inbound receipt of materials and finished goods returns.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root-cause analysis, and system transactions.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with planning and purchasing to adjust supply plans, and safety stock levels to reduce stock-outs, and over-inventory situations.
- Generate and analyze daily/weekly KPIs.
- Optimize material flow through the lifecycle (receiving dock, raw material storage, production lines, finished goods staging, shipping dock).
- Enforce FIFO principles, proper put-away, and storage to minimize handling and damage.
- Ensure safe and efficient use of forklifts and pallet jacks; maintain equipment PM schedules.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety standards for employees including OSHA, ISO, and DOT procedures.
- Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
- Must distinguish colors and pass a colorblind test
- Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination for operation of office equipment, including PC
- Sitting for periods of time, working at a desk in office environment
- Light lifting, carrying of files, supplies, ability to move, carry, lift up to 30 lbs. of objects
- Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and or other employees via phone or in person
- Requires sufficient autonomy, standing and walking to move for one office location to another
- and throughout the plant
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Education and Experience
- BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred in Logistics Management, Inventory Control, Business Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 5 years + related inventory control and logistics experience in manufacturing work environment; demonstrating progressive increase in responsibilities.
- Cable/wire experience preferred.
