Roles and Responsibilities

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant shipping, receiving, and material handling operations. Key responsibilities include:

Quality & Inspection

• Perform incoming goods inspections to ensure all materials and components meet established acceptance criteria and quality standards.
• Verify and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials.

Shipping & Receiving

• Execute domestic and international shipping and receiving activities.
• Coordinate shipments using FEDEX Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, and other carrier tools.
• Prepare and complete customs clearance documentation for shipments to and from clients and suppliers.
• Provide customs clearance guidance and support to internal teams.
• Maintain in-depth communication with shipping requesters regarding quotes, lead times, shipping options, and tracking inquiries.
• Maintain adequate levels of shipping supplies and submit purchase requisitions as needed.
• Support all tasks related to shipping and receiving as required.

Organization & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain the Logistics area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Identify and propose process improvements within logistics and material handling workflows.
• Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the Supply Chain and Production Managers.

Security & Compliance

• As with all THORASYS employees, uphold high standards of security and data privacy in accordance with THORASYS procedures and policies.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience in international and domestic air and ground shipping.
• Experience using FEDEX Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip systems.
• Dangerous Goods certification (training provided by THORASYS).
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and remain flexible in a high-demand environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
• Strong communication skills with an understanding of internal and external customer needs.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo experience considered an asset).
• Ability to reliably lift up to 50 lbs.
