Logistics Specialist

The Plastics Exchange is looking to add the right candidate to join its growing team. Founded in 2000, TPE is a real-time spot marketplace, with offices in Chicago, Scottsdale and Los Angeles for buying and selling physical commodity grade plastics. We also provide in-depth research and news coverage to the global resin marketplace. The Logistics Specialist will be part of a team that is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our business, including warehousing, shipping/receiving, billing, and overall business practice. The hire will be expected to immediately impact our back office and support our trading team. The Logistics Manager will be expected to be heavily involved in each transaction, getting to know not only our internal team but our clients. Candidates with international operations and letter of credit experience are preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Organize, maintain, and update deal book and shipping log · Strengthen current vendor relationships but also build new relationships with long-term strategies · Manage inventory on a real-time basis · Send orders to warehouse vendors for either customer pickups or coordinating and directing logistics on customer shipments · Purchase orders, sales confirmations, invoicing · Forecasting with sales team on upcoming deliveries · Work closely with accounting to audit vendors · Prepare international shipping documents, i.e. certificate of origin, packing list, commercial invoice · Work with freight forwarder and drayage partners to efficiently ship export containers · Be willing to work and assist in all aspects of the organization Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree required · 0-5 years experience in supply chain, distribution & inventory management with international experience preferred · Some experience in the plastic/resin industry highly preferred but not required · Understanding of all facets of the purchase order to cash process · Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Organizational, planning and time management skills · Ability to continuously upgrade skills · Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and perform in a fast-paced environment · Excellent problem solver · Able to thrive in a team environment Compensation package consists of base salary, 401K and health insurance.
