Logistics Specialist

As a Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring carrier’s pickup and delivery activity, scheduling pickup and delivery appointments, negotiating with and booking carriers on contracted shipments. This position involves heavy phone contact with shippers, receivers, and carriers. In addition, the position is responsible for data entry tasks and document collection. As a part of the Multi Serv team, you’ll have a starring role in helping us continue to provide daily freight solutions and impeccable customer service to our customers. What your day to day will look like: · Maintain phone and email communication with shippers, receivers & carriers. · Assist drivers with delivery issues. · Build and schedule appointments on all shipments. · Collect relevant documentation from carriers. · Input documents submitted by email. · Monitor and update the progress on daily shipments. · Sell contracted shipments to carriers and negotiate rate pay. · Additional duties as requested. What you’ll need to excel: At a minimum you’ll need: 1 year of experience in a customer service and data entry role. A high school diploma or GED and a good attitude with a want to grow and learn. It’d be great if you also: · Have some understanding of the transportation & trucking industry. · The ability to multitask & stay extremely organized. · Have the ability to thrive under pressure and make logical decisions when busy. · Experience being on the phone and calling transportation carriers. · Versed in MS Office products.
