Job Description: Supervise, train, and coordinate shipping employees and daily workloads. Schedule and coordinate outbound shipments with carriers, customers, and internal departments. Ensure orders are picked, packed, labeled, staged, and shipped accurately and on time. Verify shipping documents, bills of lading, packing lists, and related paperwork. Monitor inventory movement and resolve shipping or order discrepancies. Operate or oversee the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and shipping equipment. Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Quality departments. Track shipments and communicate delays or issues to appropriate personnel. Maintain accurate shipping records and assist with reporting and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and applicable shipping regulations. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce shipping errors, and control costs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area. Address employee performance, attendance, and scheduling issues in accordance with company policy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with competing deadlines. Leadership and team management Quality assurance and quality control Problem-solving and decision-making Communication and interpersonal skills Must prioritize safety while using and operating fork truck, motorized pallet jacks and ladders. Strong work ethic with integrity while prioritizing efficiency and accuracy. Learn and develop strong understanding of inventory control. Ability and knowledge to apply basic skill and proficiency using ERP system (e.g., Global Shop Solutions) and Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Apply basic numerical skills. Ideal Candidate will have: Previous experience leading and managing the logistics and shipping function. Supervisory experience including hiring and selecting team members. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and management to achieve performance metrics. Measurement and goal driven with strong service ethic. Continuous improvement skills and training in work flow and floor layout. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics or supply chain is a plus. 5 years of shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Experience with MSOffice, ERP systems and shipping software. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
