Start Here. Go Places. No logistics experience required. Bring your curiosity, we’ll help you build the skills. Every day, goods move across oceans, through airports, over highways, and into businesses and communities. Behind every shipment are people solving problems, coordinating details, and keeping things moving. You could be one of them. At John S. Connor , we’re looking for people who want to get their foot in the door, roll up their sleeves, and build a career in an industry that connects global markets. You don’t need to know the difference between an import and an export—or understand customs paperwork—to get started. You do need a willingness to learn, the confidence to ask questions, and the follow-through to put what you learn into practice. Your Opportunity As a Logistics Operations Assistant , you’ll help our teams handle the everyday details that keep shipments and operations moving. Depending on business needs and your assignment, you may support imports, exports, customs brokerage, domestic transportation, warehousing, pricing, vessel operations, or other areas of our business. You’ll learn company systems, shipping terminology, documentation, and processes through training and hands-on work alongside experienced colleagues. As you build your skills, you’ll gain a better understanding of how the pieces of global logistics fit together—and where your interests could take you. This is a starting point for someone who wants to contribute, take on new challenges, and grow with our organization. What You’ll Do Help coordinate and track shipments moving internationally and within the United States. Enter and update shipment, customer, and operational information in company systems. Prepare, review, and organize shipping documents and records. Follow up on missing information with customers, carriers, vendors, and coworkers. Monitor shipment activity and share timely updates with the team. Support scheduling, documentation, and coordination across logistics functions. Assist with warehouse, inventory, cargo, or vessel-related activities as assigned. Learn to recognize when something needs attention, ask questions, and bring issues to the right person. Pitch in on projects and everyday tasks that help the team succeed. The details matter here. An accurate entry, a timely follow-up, or a thoughtful question can help keep a shipment on track. What You’ll Bring No previous logistics experience is required. We’re looking for someone who: Is curious about how things work and eager to learn. Takes ownership of assigned tasks and follows through. Is willing to start with the basics and build from there. Pays attention to details and stays organized. Communicates clearly, respectfully, and professionally. Has basic computer skills and is comfortable learning new systems. Can manage changing priorities and ask for help when needed. Shows up reliably and contributes to the team. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. College coursework or a degree is welcome, but not required. Why John S. Connor? We help businesses navigate the movement of goods around the world. Our work brings together people, technology, customer service, and problem-solving—and every team member has a part to play. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, develop practical skills, and make a meaningful contribution while exploring career possibilities across logistics. Bring your questions. Bring your effort. Bring your interest in what comes next. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: 40,000 –50,000 , based on qualifications. Hybrid work opportunities, depending on role, location, and operational needs. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
