Great Plains ManufacturingExternal Logistics Manager Salina, KS Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking an External Logistics Manager to join our team. This is an on-site role based in our Corporate office in Salina, KS. The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position reports to the Director of Procurement and Production Control. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in developing and administering policies and long-range goals and objectives. Plan, direct, and coordinate operational activities for external logistics team. Manage and coordinates activities to attain logistic goals and objectives. Review analysis of logistic results, expenses, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward annual goals and objectives. Collaborate with administrative team to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or operations resulting from current results and business conditions. Serve on operating committees such as engineering, sales, procurement, and production. Plan and coordinate activities concerned with transportation pricing, supporting delivery of product sales, and distribution of products. Coordinate with outside vendors and build relationships to ensure smooth performance which is aligned to meet GPM requirements. Knowledge and understanding of transportation management systems and general transportation management practices. Plan, coordinate, and control the daily logistics operation through the organization. Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to implement plans, standards and procedures which are consistent with established policies. Establish and maintain an effective system of communication with multiple parties within and outside GPM. Represent the organization with customers, suppliers, and other Kubota groups. Lead External Logistics team including delegating responsibilities and training on new processes and software. Interview, hire, and provide coaching, development, and performance evaluations for employees. Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment. Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment. Preferred Skills and Qualifications : Bachelor's degree or four to ten years of related logistics and management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience leading and developing logistics or transportation teams, including training, coaching, performance management, and delegation of responsibilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review logistics performance, expenses, and forecast data to support operational and strategic decisions. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with external vendors, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional internal teams. Knowledge of transportation pricing, carrier management, product distribution, and external logistics operations in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, implement process improvements, and support company policies and operational goals. Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other computer systems.
