WaterCo springsResponsible to manage all logistics activities to ensure customers’ expectations for quality and on-time delivery are met. Manage the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse; including, but not limited to all logistics functions, warehousing, distribution, transportation, shipping/receiving, order management, trailer/container configurations and inventory management. Establish and maintain Logistics community relations. Foster a well-trained and motivated Logistics staff. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Direct, coordinate and supervise logistics operations in accordance with company policies and procedures. 2. Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations. 3. Responsible for forklift powered industrial equipment training for facility. 4. Oversee logistics related activities including purchase orders, invoicing, freight forwarding and customs clearance. 5. Effectively monitor and report the warehouse inventory, including cycle counts, physical inventory and reconciliation. 6. Manage the carrier management process, such as selection, qualification, and performance evaluation. 7. Negotiation of rates with common carrier representatives and freight forwarders and brokers for domestic and international shipments. 8. Collaborate with multiple company departments with issues concerning customer satisfaction, returns and claims, transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, and software implementation. 9. Develop budget, cost controls and delivery dates of products ordered/shipped. 10. Coordinate warehouse activities with production department on startups, shutdowns, and changeovers. 11. Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels. 12. Conduct interviews, hire new staff, and provide employee orientation. 13. Complete human resource paperwork for new employees in logistics. 14. Responsible for Logistics employee Training/Coaching Program. 15. Coach and provide career development advice to staff. 16. Direct staff in the development, analysis, and preparation of reports. 17. Schedule and conduct shift meetings. 18. Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews. 19. Responsible to meet department productivity, efficiency, and quality goals. 20. Responsible for maintaining quality, making equipment adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject/remove product outside specification. 21. Responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs). 22. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs). 23. Perform administrative activities as needed associated with the effective management of warehouse operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving data for reporting. Complete, review, organize and file logistics logs and reports. 24. Assist in production as necessary. 25. Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department to include: staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals. 26. Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department. 27. Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies. 28. Coordinate and implement solutions from process analysis and general department projects. 29. Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems. 30. Develop and implement Logistics management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization’s annual business plan and long term strategy. 31. Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of logistics issues across all departments. 32.
