About The Team Our Operations team gets Just Ingredients products to customers quickly, safely, and cost-effectively across DTC, wholesale, and retail. The Logistics Manager reports to the Sr. Director, Retail Operations & Fulfillment, and owns how product moves across our distribution network – parcel, freight, and transfers – working closely with Fulfillment, Inventory Planning, Wholesale, and Finance. What We Are Looking For We're looking for a hands-on Logistics Manager who owns transportation from end to end and treats every shipment as a chance to improve service and cost. You know how to choose and manage carriers, negotiate rates, and plan freight moves that keep inventory where it needs to be. You track cost per order closely, find the root cause when shipping costs creep up, and cut avoidable expedites before they happen. You're analytical, organized, and comfortable holding carriers and partners accountable to the service levels we promise our customers. What You'll Do Parcel Carrier Management Manage parcel carrier relationships, service levels, and carrier selection for DTC and small-package shipments. Negotiate carrier rates, contracts, and accessorial terms, and benchmark performance against the market. Build carrier scorecards that track on-time delivery, damage, and claims, and drive corrective action. Freight & Transportation Manage LTL and truckload freight, both inbound from suppliers and co-manufacturers and outbound to retail and wholesale customers. Ensure outbound shipments meet retailer routing guides and delivery windows to protect OTIF performance and avoid chargebacks. Oversee freight claims, carrier invoice audits, and accurate freight accruals with Finance. Ensure food-safe transportation practices that meet FSMA Sanitary Transportation requirements. Network Planning Plan network moves and inventory transfers across warehouses and fulfillment locations with the Inventory Planning team. Balance cost, speed, and inventory position when deciding how and when product moves. Support new item launches, retail resets, and seasonal peaks with capacity and transportation plans. Cost & Performance Own freight and parcel cost per order, and report trends, drivers, and savings to leadership. Cut avoidable expedited shipping by improving planning, lead times, and communication with partners. Identify cost-saving opportunities through mode optimization, consolidation, packaging, and zone strategy. Build and improve logistics processes, tools, and dashboards (TMS or similar) as the business scales. Proven experience managing parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, regional carriers) and LTL/truckload freight. A track record of negotiating carrier rates and contracts and delivering measurable cost savings. Working knowledge of retailer routing guides, OTIF requirements, and freight claims. Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel and experience tracking logistics KPIs such as cost per order.
