Larson Cando, INCPosition Summary: The Logistics Crew Lead is responsible to see to the efficient receiving and shipping of jet engines, stands and other high value materials by the assigned crew. The position is filled with someone who is clearly in charge, sets the pace of work, and provides an example of a motivated employee. The candidate will be willing and able to accomplish work objectives such as prepare engines for shipment and also perform any additional tasks given by your supervisors. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the next day’s work with production planning to ensure adherence to planned priorities. Understands and enforces work being performed in priority order Ensures that workers are properly accounting for manhours by proper sign-in and sign-out procedures Monitors the amount of time being expended to complete individual jobs and ensures adherence to established labor hour standards Maintains discipline of workforce on all levels – controls tardiness, absences, clean work areas and personal appearances, etc. Efficient at all levels of personnel management Controls the use of all department specific tools and shop equipment – ensures that the crew is using the equipment properly and stores it back where it belongs. Maintains a responsible attitude about the use of department specific tools and shop equipment. Performs end-of-day checklist as assigned by Shop Supervisor that covers the security of both Company and Customer equipment - external doors locked, shop equipment properly stored, lights and AC’s turned off, etc. Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Keep work area clean and safe. Operate forklift with care and with awareness to people and environment around machine. Ensure forklift is properly stored, fueled, cleaned, and ready to operate. Perform and/or assign daily and weekly forklift inspections and checks. Report any findings with department specific equipment and manage repair of said equipment. Take photographs of incoming and outgoing engines, engine stands, and high value materials as they enter and exit facility. Follow and update inventory activity, lists, records, and log all completed tasks. Manage all engine movement and forklift operation which includes warehouse organization, and all asset dispatch & receiving. Work with planning on the proper storing of engines in a sensible order. Update engine location log daily. Communicates with supervisor and logistics team when lifting or setting engines in designated areas and is aware and capable of preventing hazardous situations before they become critical. Reports any hazards or problems to safety personnel. Maintain preservation state of all assets in storage as directed by the Quality Department Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of engines. Ensure all engines, stands and piece parts in storage have license plates. Maintain an adequate supply of logistics materials to sustain workflow. Other tasks as assigned. Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient and demonstrated skill with the engine. Assignments require standard knowledge of technical areas. Assists advanced level technicians on more complex technical assignments. Skilled with repairing, troubleshooting, installing and equipment maintenance. Knowledge of FAA approved work package instructions; ability to inspect and install parts/components. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in Standard English. Computer literate – Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent. Able to pass drug test/background check – We are a Drug Free Workplace! Physically able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs. – Engine and parts can be extremely heavy and will take a lot of strength to move/manipulate. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
