Logistics Floater
Small Parts, IncOVERVIEW The Logistics Floater is a cross-trained team member responsible for supporting all functions within the Logistics Department. The Logistics Floater is expected to develop and maintain proficiency in all logistics functions and serve as a flexible resource to support departmental goals and operational needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned) Shipping and Receiving Receive incoming materials and verify shipments for accuracy. Prepare, package, and ship customer orders according to specifications. Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries. Process shipping documents, labels, and required customer paperwork. Assist with expedited shipments and special customer requests. Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely. Inventory Control Perform cycle counts and inventory audits as assigned. Maintain accurate inventory records within the Plex ERP system. Investigate and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies. Track customer-owned inventory and returnable containers. Support inventory reporting and analysis activities. Material Handling Load, unload, transport, and store materials throughout the facility. Deliver raw materials and components to production areas. Move work-in-process and finished goods between departments. Maintain warehouse organization and proper material storage. Support outside service shipments and returns. Assist with loading and unloading trucks. Logistics and Administrative Support Process transactions and maintain records within the Plex ERP system. Assist with outside service scheduling and coordination. Support shipping schedules and customer delivery requirements. Access customer portals to obtain shipping documentation and labels. Generate reports and maintain logistics records. Assist with traffic, freight, and transportation activities as needed. Coverage and Cross-Training Serve as backup for all logistics department positions. Fill in during employee absences, vacations, training, or other staffing shortages. Provide support to areas experiencing increased workload. Complete cross-training requirements for all logistics functions. Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Support department goals through flexibility and teamwork. Associate degree preferred. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing preferred. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with ERP systems preferred; Plex experience is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and changing workloads. Must be willing and able to learn and perform all logistics department functions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move materials consistent with department requirements. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Work in warehouse, shipping, receiving, production, and office environments. Ability to safely perform all essential job functions.
