Aston CarterJob Title: Logistics Dispatch Supervisor Job Description This role serves as the first point of contact for the Overwatch team when questions, order issues, and escalations arise. It combines people leadership, transportation operations, customer/carrier communication, exception management, and real-time shipment/status monitoring. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day questions, order issues, and escalations. Conduct regular 1:1s with team members for coaching, goal setting, removing blockers, and professional development. Review individual scorecards and development goals. Coach employees on processes, systems, and stakeholder communication. Provide real-time feedback and establish consistent performance expectations. Help create a positive, supportive team culture. Monitor open orders throughout the day to ensure accurate pickup and delivery against customer performance standards. Prioritize and reassign workloads to maintain coverage and status quality. Ensure active order statuses are accurate and current in the TMS before the end of each shift. Identify and flag at-risk deliveries as soon as issues become known. Personally manage complex or high-touch exceptions that the team cannot resolve. Keep units moving and reduce dwell to help protect revenue. Identify workflow/process improvements and recurring operational issues. Hold the team accountable for proactive status updates and exception communication. Partner with operations, account managers, site teams, OEM contacts, and carriers. Serve as an escalation point for professional car haulers and carriers. Maintain professional, courteous communication, including during difficult situations. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch, customer service, or a team-lead capacity. Hands-on logistics, dispatch, transportation, or similar operations experience. Leadership or team-lead capabilities. Experience handling escalations and resolving operational problems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and organization. Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred background in trucking, transportation, or automotive/finished-vehicle logistics. Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and TMS/internal transportation systems. Work Environment The role requires support of the team's published coverage rotation, including a 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift. Weekend coverage is required as part of the rotation. Candidates should be comfortable with fully onsite work in Plymouth and rotating between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and 10:00 AM–7:00 PM shifts. The company offers a great environment for career advancement. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Plymouth, MI. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
