Logistics Coordinator

Full Job Description A Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in the Manufacturing industry, where their main responsibility is to optimize the supply chain process. Logistics Coordinator job description includes managing the flow of goods and materials from suppliers to manufacturers and then to customers. They oversee the storage, and delivery of products while ensuring that the process is cost-effective, efficient, and meets quality standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION Manage transportation schedules and ensure efficient delivery of finished products to the customer Collaborate with customers to coordinate logistics and resolve any issues that may arise Monitor inventory levels Track shipment progress and update managers on status of any delays Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading and customs declarations Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations to management Maintain accurate records and reports related to logistics activities Work closely with other departments, such as production and procurement, to ensure seamless operations Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Responsible for the communication of relevant data through reports Responsible for collection of data as special projects arise and the analysis of such data as required (Understanding of advanced ERP reporting tools) Perform problem analysis, identifying root causes, outlining resolution options and taking appropriate actions to resolve problems Responsible for reviewing/maintaining proper FIFO storage of finished goods Review/maintain empty rack storage/fleet size Count & maintain cardboard inventory Assist with daily shipping activities as assigned by manager · Performs other duties as assigned COMPETENCIES 1. Education and/or Experience · Associate's degree or equivalent work experience · 2-plus years related experience with manufacturing shipping department Strong background in SAP · As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods to customer, ensuring the product is delivered on time and in good condition. Additionally, you may negotiate prices, manage inventory, and supervise logistics staff.
