Logistics Coordinator

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our supply chain operations team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind efficient transportation, warehouse distribution, and inventory management processes. Your expertise will ensure seamless coordination across procurement, shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities, contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to optimize supply chain workflows, implement process improvements, and collaborate across multiple departments to meet organizational goals. Duties Manage end-to-end transportation planning and logistics management using transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Coordinate warehouse distribution activities, including stocking, materials handling, shipping & receiving, and inventory control within warehouse management systems (WMS). Oversee procurement and sourcing activities by analyzing data collection and conducting root cause analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements. Negotiate pricing, freight rates, and vendor terms with suppliers, 3PL providers (third-party logistics), NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and other partners to optimize supply chain costs. Monitor inventory levels through demand planning and inventory management systems like MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to ensure optimal stock levels. Facilitate cross-functional communication between procurement, warehouse operations, transportation planning, and customer service teams for smooth order fulfillment. Conduct data analysis using tools such as Tableau or Excel data analysis to generate reports on supply chain performance metrics and support decision-making. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards during import/export activities. Lead process improvement initiatives by analyzing logistics workflows and implementing best practices for efficiency gains. Support freight management activities including shipping logistics, manual handling procedures, and freight cost analysis to maximize profit & loss outcomes. Skills Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL, spreadsheets, Excel data analysis, and Microsoft Office Suite. Extensive experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems (IMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or similar. Proven ability in transportation management including transportation planning, shipping & receiving coordination, and freight negotiation. Knowledge of supply chain analytics tools such as Tableau for reporting insights and process optimization. Hands-on experience in warehouse operations including stocking, materials handling, forklift operation certification preferred. Expertise in procurement strategies, vendor management experience, category management, sourcing practices, and trade compliance standards. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and process improvement methodologies. Effective communication skills for collaborating across functions such as customer service, production planning, demand planning, and supplier management. Familiarity with international trade regulations and NVOCC operations for global logistics coordination. Ability to practice in a supply chain operations role with a focus on inventory control, shipping logistics, supply chain management principles, and logistics optimization.
