Logistics Coordinator

Job description: Momentum, an NVOCC and freight broker based in Inwood (near JFK airport) seeks to fill the position of Logistics Specialist. The position is full-time. We will train the proper candidate, but a candidate with a background in logistics is preferred. Job Duties: Creating and monitoring bookings for customers' ocean shipments. Negotiating rates with truckers and steamship lines Booking full trucks for over the road shipments Communicating with customers to determine trucking needs and to schedule shipments Scheduling shipments with steamship lines Checking shipments status of loads multiple times daily Assembling all documentation required for shipments Forwarding documentation to steamship lines and revising as necessary Other administrative tasks as required Required Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required Candidate must have some college or work experience Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and have good interpersonal skills Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience: Logistics: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Work Location: In person
