Essential Duties : Schedule FTL and LTL shipments Follow up on any questions and research any issues from emails Update and maintain AVS Tracker Collect all of the day’s shipping paperwork Compare shipping rates daily Code bills timely Organize records – our paperwork, copy of BOLs, check for HazMat Operate a stand-up forklift (occasionally a sit-down forklift) Drive safely and be aware of pedestrians and surroundings Audit, cycle count, and maintain support documents Create Bills of Lading (BOLs) Visually inspect all items and communicate findings as directed by area supervision Communicate with supervisor and address inquiries with others as they occur Assist teammates with getting shipments prepared to ship Being present at work and adhering to assigned work schedule, including overtime Problem solve and prioritize work Back-up to routing all inbound shipments Qualifications: Strong computer and typing skills, excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and efficiently manage time. Forklift experience preferred. On-the-job training is provided. Must be able to read, write and speak English, work with simple arithmetic, and understand ordinary verbal and written instructions. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write and speak English, bilingual a plus. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Physical Demands: Essential functions can require: Standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Reach with hands and arms. Talking or hearing. Occasional walking. Stoop; kneel; crouch. Lifting/handling: exert up to 50 pounds occasionally; up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Vision: color; close; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Work is performed under generally good conditions with some machine noise, fumes, oil, and dirt present. Adequate lighting and ventilation are present. Extreme outdoor temperatures will influence the temperature in the production area. Exposure to usual minor shop injuries such as cuts, bruises, burns and sprains are inherent in the job. Some exposure to more serious hazards; however, probability of serious injury will be minimized by adherence to established safety regulations. Training will be provided to personnel who occasionally wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
