Logistics Coordinator Logistics Coordinator – Third Shift Location: Columbus, OH 43218 Schedule: Third Shift / Overnight Employment Type: Contract Pay: Competitive hourly rate, DOE Openings: 2 About the Opportunity We are partnering with a rapidly growing transportation and logistics organization that provides technology-driven freight and supply chain solutions to customers across the country. The company operates in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment and is adding two Logistics Coordinators to its overnight operations team in Columbus. This is a fully onsite opportunity ideal for someone who is comfortable working overnight, monitoring time-sensitive shipments, communicating with drivers and internal teams, and quickly addressing issues that could impact pickups or deliveries. Available Overnight Shifts Two contractors will be hired for third-shift coverage: 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM The operation runs Monday through Sunday. Candidates must be comfortable with overnight hours and working weekends based on their assigned schedule. What You'll Do Coordinate and monitor carrier shipments to support on-time pickups and deliveries Monitor inbound and outbound load movements using internal tracking systems and transportation tools Maintain communication with carriers, drivers, shippers, and internal operations teams Identify shipment delays, missed pickups, delivery issues, or other exceptions and escalate appropriately Provide timely shipment status updates and assist with resolving transportation issues Review and update shipment documentation, including purchase orders, bills of lading, invoices, and related records Maintain accurate shipment information within internal systems Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to keep shipments moving efficiently Follow established procedures for shipment tracking, communication, scheduling, and escalation Provide dependable overnight coverage in a fast-paced logistics environment What We're Looking For Previous logistics, transportation, freight, dispatch, shipping, supply chain, or operations experience preferred Experience monitoring shipments, loads, deliveries, or transportation activity strongly preferred Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation Ability to troubleshoot problems and respond quickly when issues arise Comfortable working independently during overnight hours Reliable attendance and ability to consistently work a third-shift schedule Strong computer skills and ability to learn transportation and shipment-tracking systems Ideal Background Candidates may come from freight brokerage, transportation, trucking, dispatch, 3PL, warehouse logistics, shipping and receiving, distribution, carrier operations, or other time-sensitive logistics environments. Previous third-shift or overnight experience is highly preferred. Work Location Columbus, OH 43218 This position is fully onsite. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance and have reliable transportation to and from the worksite during overnight hours.
