The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Logistics Coordinator to plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate logistics activities across our operations. In this role, you will work closely with Production, Project Managers, site crews, customers, and external suppliers to ensure finished products and equipment are transported safely, on time, and in the most cost-effective manner.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and construction environment and takes ownership of seeing tasks through from start to finish.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Production, site crews, customers, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products and equipment
  • Plan and manage transportation timing, routes, and modes using both in-house and external resources cost-effectively
  • Schedule pick-ups and deliveries for production, purchasing, construction, maintenance, and accounting departments
  • Coordinate painters, loaders, and drivers to ensure products are coated, loaded, and shipped on schedule
  • Verify painting, loading, and trailer configurations against bills of lading before release from the facility
  • Review orders and shipment contents prior to dispatch
  • Prepare accurate bills of lading, shipping documents, permits, and customs documentation
  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with safety regulations and permitting requirements
  • Complete purchase orders and coordinate timely delivery and pick-up of finished items
  • Supervise and coordinate logistics staff (e.g., truck drivers) based on availability and shipping needs
  • Resolve transportation, import/export, customer, and logistics system issues
  • Negotiate transportation and logistics charges with suppliers and customers
  • Monitor packaging and labeling accuracy
  • Provide backup support to purchasing, production processing, quality, and inventory management
  • Prepare accurate reports for management
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and processes
  • Contribute to safety, quality assurance, LEAN initiatives, continuous improvement, and a respectful workplace

What you'll need

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 5 years of related logistics or industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and knowledge of U.S. logistics requirements considered an asset

Skills & Competencies

  • Teamwork: Strong ability to collaborate and act as a key link between Production and sites/customers
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Comfortable adjusting to changing production, site, and customer demands
  • Ownership: Takes initiative and follows tasks through to completion
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
  • Detail-oriented, patient, and focused with strong communication abilities

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Tekla Powerfab, Bluebeam, ERP systems, database management, and/or scheduling software is an asset

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing facility environment with dust and moderate-to-loud noise levels
  • PPE required (hard hat, safety footwear, etc.)
  • Regular sitting, talking, and hearing; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 20 lbs
  • Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
