Logistics Coordinator

Mission: To effectively coordinate delivery of orders to customers and vendors on time and under budget. Support the operations team by proactively and coherently communicating shipping plans and providing a consistent communication strategy for changes. Redefine and document shipping process within first year. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our supply chain operations team. In this pivotal role, you will orchestrate the seamless movement of goods, manage handling/packaging process with suppliers and partners, and optimize transportation planning to ensure timely delivery under budget. Your expertise will drive process improvements, enhance vendor relationships, and support overall supply chain efficiency. Outcomes Project shipment plans are communicated in advance and executed on time; products are delivered by the estimated delivery date All consignees are contacted to confirm delivery address and shipment details 2 weeks prior to booking Supplier to supplier shipments are managed/coordinated within 12 hours of confirmation Schedules are updated and information is communicated as client/vendor dates change within 1 hour of change details Shipment plans are executed under budget (+1% project margin)– while maintaining high customer experience (communication, service, accountability performance) Accountable for maintaining and following shipping process by end of first year Oversee transportation management system to track shipments, optimize freight routes, and monitor delivery schedules. Freight claims are initiated within 5 days of delivery AND followed through until resolved. Can marshal resources and provide guidance for North American and International shipments when necessary. Maintain strong vendor management relationships through effective communication, contract management, and performance evaluations semiannually. Initiates proactive solutions to prevent damage to product. Maintains processes for packaging/handling of individual product lines. Existing solutions are re-evaluated annually. Qualifications Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations or logistics role with a strong understanding of operations and distribution processes. Skilled in data analysis using Excel data analysis tools. Familiarity with freight forwarding, 3PL providers, specialty carriers, shipping logistics, and last mile services. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
