Logistics Coordinator Roots Logistics | Tampa, FL Full-Time | On-Site In This Role as a Logistics Coordinator You will serve as the on-site representative for Roots Logistics at one of our customer's facilities, helping coordinate the movement of freight between the customer's shipping team and our carrier partners. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced operations, communicates well with others, and thrives in an environment where every day brings new challenges. As the primary liaison between truck drivers, trucking companies, the customer's dock personnel, and our internal operations team, you will play a critical role in keeping freight moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Your ability to communicate clearly, solve problems quickly, and remain organized under pressure will directly impact the success of our operation and the customer experience. This is not a desk job. You will spend the majority of your shift on your feet throughout the customer's facility, coordinating truck movements, directing drivers to the appropriate dock doors, monitoring loading activity, and helping resolve operational issues before they become service failures. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in organized chaos, enjoys thinking on their feet, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Serve as the on-site logistics representative at the customer's facility. Act as the primary liaison between customer personnel, truck drivers, carrier dispatchers, and Roots Logistics. Coordinate truck arrivals, departures, and dock assignments. Direct drivers to the appropriate loading locations. Monitor trailer movements and loading progress throughout the shift. Communicate shipment status and operational updates to internal teams. Help ensure drivers are loaded safely and depart on schedule. Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and assist in resolving them. Quickly respond to unexpected transportation or scheduling issues. Maintain strong communication with customer personnel throughout the shift. Assist with shipment documentation and operational recordkeeping. Verify shipment information and communicate discrepancies when necessary. Escalate service concerns or operational delays to the appropriate internal teams. Help maintain a safe, organized, and professional working environment.
