Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator role is to maintain proper manpower utilization and help as many customers as possible, without becoming overbooked or jeopardizing the ability to cover reliefs or any other pending work. Logistics Coordinators will lead communication and information exchange amongst customers, tankermen and management, while focusing on customer satisfaction and safety of employees. The Logistics Team Leaders will embrace and demonstrate the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the organization in all actions and activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Ensures coverage of existing workload using critical thinking and creativity in a manner that not only ensures maximum utilization but also protects the safety of employees in the field. Dispatches field personnel through high volume phone calls, computer logging and tracking, and document work requested and performed. Maintains planning/tracking tools as updated information is received from the field. Proactively seeks missing information and new updates needed to make informed decisions. Creates, updates, and completes work records with job information in a timely fashion. Effectively manages resolution of issues, being sure to involve operations and management when required. Assists in the resolution of factual discrepancies, issues, or challenges. Devises effective solutions to unexpected logistical problems to prevent them from escalating into breakdowns that could threaten customer satisfaction or put the safety of employees at risk. Willing to work 12-hour shifts (7-on followed by 7-off), alternating days, nights, weekends, as well as some holidays. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel). Organized, detail-oriented, accurate, self-motivated and multi-task oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced work environment. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED. Previous experience working in a dispatching role, Logistics or marine transportation industry is preferred, but not required.
