Job Summary We are hiring an Entry-Level Logistics Coordinator to keep shipments moving on time, on budget, and with accurate records. You will schedule inbound and outbound freight, work with carriers and the warehouse team, and solve day-to-day delivery problems. No prior logistics experience is required; we will train you on our systems and processes. Key responsibilities Shipment coordination Schedule inbound and outbound shipments (LTL, FTL, parcel) and book pickups with approved carriers. Track shipments in real time and update customers and internal teams on status and delays. Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and delivery receipts. Carrier and vendor communication Request and compare freight quotes so the team can choose the best rate and transit time. Serve as a daily contact for carriers, drivers, and suppliers on appointments and pickup windows. Problem solving and customer service Respond to customer questions about orders, delivery dates, and tracking by phone and email. Help resolve delays, damages, shortages, and refused deliveries, and assist with freight claims. Records, data, and compliance Enter and maintain accurate order, shipment, and inventory data in the TMS/WMS and ERP system. Audit freight invoices against quotes and flag billing discrepancies. Follow safety, regulatory, and company procedures, including hazmat and customs paperwork when applicable. Produce simple weekly reports on on-time delivery, freight spend, and open issues. Required qualifications High school diploma or GED. 0–2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, warehousing, customer service, or another detail-oriented role. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (sorting, filters, basic formulas) and email. Clear written and spoken English for daily contact with carriers and customers. Ability to work on-site and occasionally adjust hours during peak shipping periods. Preferred qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field. Internship or part-time experience in transportation, distribution, or freight brokerage. Familiarity with shipping terms such as LTL, FTL, BOL, and Incoterms. Skills and competencies Attention to detail: catches errors in addresses, weights, and paperwork before a truck leaves. Organization: juggles 20+ active shipments a day without losing track of deadlines. Communication: gives clear, polite updates, including when the news is a delay. Problem solving: stays calm under time pressure and finds a workable fix. Teamwork: works smoothly with warehouse, sales, purchasing, and accounting. Willingness to learn: picks up new software and procedures quickly. Working conditions The role splits time between an office desk and the warehouse or shipping dock. It involves extended computer and phone work, with regular walks on the warehouse floor to check freight and talk with the dock team. Occasionally lift up to 25 lb. Wear required safety gear (safety shoes, high-visibility vest) in warehouse areas. Exposure to warehouse noise and seasonal temperature changes on the dock.
