As an integral part of the ALSS Division, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating truck and multimodal shipments for a portfolio of customers throughout Canada and the U.S. The position is responsible for sourcing and purchasing third-party freight services, negotiating rates with carriers and customers, and managing the profitability of individual transactions. The role requires balancing competitive pricing and margin objectives with reliable service and the development of long-term customer and carrier relationships. For more information please visit arrowcareers.ca Coordinate customer truck shipments throughout Canada and the U.S., including order processing, carrier arrangements, scheduling, pickup and delivery appointments, documentation, and shipment follow-up. Source, qualify, and maintain relationships with third-party carriers to ensure adequate capacity, competitive pricing, and reliable service. Monitor equipment availability and secure appropriate truck and trailer configurations based on shipment requirements. Maintain a strong working knowledge of truck and trailer configurations, equipment capabilities, and transportation requirements in Canada and the U.S. Coordinate over-dimensional freight, including permits, routing, load restrictions, escorts, and applicable transportation regulations. Track and trace shipments and proactively communicate shipment status, delays, and other issues to customers and internal stakeholders. Resolve transportation-related issues including breakdowns, missed appointments, rejected loads, detention, layovers, storage, shortages, damages, and lost shipments. Assist with freight claims and other shipment-related concerns as required. Coordinate multimodal shipments involving truck, rail, ocean, and other transportation services. Obtain, review, and maintain required documentation for domestic, import, and export shipments. Ensure carriers meet applicable qualification requirements, including insurance, operating authority, safety documentation, and regulatory requirements. Ensure transportation activities comply with applicable company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Create and maintain accurate shipment information within the TMS and ensure orders are complete and properly prepared for billing. Obtain and negotiate freight rates and develop customer pricing for truck, rail, ocean, and other multimodal transportation services. Maintain current transportation rates and pricing information and provide customer pricing updates as required. Review freight invoices and accessorial charges and resolve rate, billing, or service discrepancies with carriers and vendors. Maintain strong customer relationships and respond to customer inquiries and transportation requirements in a timely manner.
