Job Overview United Express Global LLC is seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Freight Broker / Logistics Dispatcher to join our growing team. We specialize in expedited, time-sensitive, and specialized freight transportation, providing reliable logistics solutions to customers across the United States and Canada. As a Freight Broker / Logistics Dispatcher, you will play an essential role in coordinating shipments, negotiating transportation rates, communicating with customers and carriers, and ensuring freight moves safely and efficiently from pickup through final delivery. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates effectively, works well under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Previous freight brokerage or dispatching experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Freight Brokerage & Dispatch Operations Coordinate freight shipments from initial customer requests through final delivery. Source, negotiate with, and secure qualified transportation carriers. Obtain competitive transportation rates while maintaining company profitability. Provide customers with accurate and timely freight quotes. Verify carrier qualifications, equipment capabilities, and shipment requirements. Dispatch drivers and coordinate pickup and delivery appointments. Monitor active shipments using transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS tracking platforms. Proactively identify and resolve transportation delays, scheduling conflicts, and unexpected challenges. Ensure accurate shipment documentation, including bills of lading (BOLs) and signed proof of delivery (PODs). Customer Service & Communication Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, carriers, and transportation partners. Provide consistent shipment updates, including pickup confirmations, transit progress, and delivery notifications. Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and transportation requests. Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, customers, and internal team members. Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Sales & Business Development Assist with identifying new customer opportunities and supporting company growth. Build and maintain positive relationships with existing customers. Recognize opportunities to provide additional transportation services. Support customer retention through dependable service and effective communication. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities Maintain accurate shipment records and transportation documentation. Enter and update shipment information within company transportation management systems. Follow established company procedures, safety requirements, and transportation regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and effective shift transitions. Manage multiple shipments and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or service quality. Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or dispatching is preferred but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and other business software. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining professional standards.
