Position Summary
The Logistics Clerk provides administrative and operational support to the Logistics Department to ensure accurate and timely shipping, receiving, inventory control, and customer deliveries. This role supports import/export activities, freight coordination, customs documentation, and helps maintain uninterrupted supply to both customers and internal production operations.
This position plays a critical role in supporting on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and overall logistics performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities for inbound and outbound goods
- Prepare shipping documents, receiving paperwork, picking lists, labels, and related logistics documentation
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control processes
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials to customers, production areas, and module centers
- Support customer delivery schedules, including series, CKD, and ETD shipments
- Respond to customer logistics inquiries and assist with delivery concerns
- Handle customer complaints, delivery reports, and shipment follow-up
- Coordinate delivery deviations and communicate shipment changes with customers
- Organize expedited shipments when necessary to avoid production interruptions
- Schedule trucks and transportation orders
- Process import/export documentation and support customs clearance activities
- Assist with freight billing, freight control, and logistics improvement projects
- Support cross-functional communication with production, quality, accounting, and controlling
- Follow OSHA safety standards and maintain 5S workplace organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or automotive manufacturing preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Shipping, receiving, and warehouse management experience
- Forklift experience preferred
- Experience with SAP R/3 or similar ERP systems (Oracle, etc.)
- Knowledge of MRP/PPS systems
- Familiarity with JIT and JIS order control systems
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving skills with 5 Why methodology knowledge
- Understanding of 5S workplace standards
- Familiarity with OSHA standards
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Results-driven mindset
- English proficiency (written and verbal)
