• Safely operate a CDL A tractor trailer on regional routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight.
• Conduct detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer.
• Ensure proper loading, unloading, and securement of freight to prevent any damage.
• Adhere to all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations as well as hours of service guidelines.
• Maintain accurate electronic logs and necessary delivery documentation.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, logistics, and store personnel.
• Promptly report any equipment issues and manage basic maintenance as needed.
• Follow designated routes while responsibly navigating traffic and weather conditions.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery points and distribution centers.
• Contribute to a culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
• Experience in CDL Class A tractor trailer operation.
• Strong commitment to defensive and safe driving practices.
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Understanding of Hours of Service and ELD usage.
• Ability to conduct vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance.
• Proficient in freight loading and securement techniques.
• Strong planning and time management skills.
• Accuracy in logbook and documentation management.
• Effective communication with dispatch and customers.
• Familiarity with GPS and in-cab technology.
