Logistics Automation Developer

Job purpose

Sonwil is a leading supplier of Logistics Services. FourSquare is our pilot project for largely automated warehousing and distribution.  Within the facility a fleet of autonomous devices operate under the control of our software.  We are looking for a motivated individual to work on the team leading this development effort.

This is a challenging environment where development and the pressures of a production environment intersect.  This exciting opportunity uses technology that is just now making its way into the logistics industry.  A great opportunity for someone interested in the deployment of automation technology.

Duties and responsibilities

• Resource will have the unique opportunity to work in a challenging environment of new technology.  This largely automated logistics hub uses a fleet of autonomous devices to move pallets of product in a large 3-dimensional storage solution.
• Opportunity to work in pathing and control management software.
• Opportunity to work with robotics.ac
• Secondary opportunities exist to develop desktop, mobile, and services using the .Net framework as well as iOS applications.
• Additional opportunity to work with on-board device computing and sensor platforms.
• Relational and Transactional database development across many enterprise systems will be key to successful application development.
• This is a daily on-site position in West Seneca, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science OR equivalent experience.
• Skilled with ASP.NET; VB.NET; Visual Studio 213+; MS SQL Server 2008+
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Skills in pathing and control logic helpful.
• Knowledge of CODESYS development a great bonus.
• Experience with the development of services appreciated.

Safety Requirements

• Must be able to work in an office environment and as part of a development team.
• This is a live operating environment.  Safety training will be provided.

Physical requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
