JOB SUMMARY:
Within the connect of a patient, client and family centered model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Logistics, the Logistics Attendant is the interface between all supplies, materials and equipment that come and go to the designated areas within the facility by the automated guided vehicles. The Logistics Attendant transports processed goods to the automated guided vehicles and dispatches them to the designated units, ensuring goods are delivered to the appropriate destination. Keeps work areas and equipment in a clean and tidy condition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience
Grade 12, plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

3.1 Transports a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment from the Logistics Centre staging area to the automated guided vehicles and dispatches them to the designated areas within the facility.
3.2 Coordinates distribution function by prioritizing the delivery of goods and equipment to end users as per established procedures and ensures goods are delivered to the appropriate destination.
3.3 Receives, unpacks, inspects, counts and checks received goods against delivery reports at the Logistic Centre staging area. Enters information, prints receiving reports and files for record/reference.
3.4 Loads clean delivery carts and moves the carts to the automated guided vehicle area for dispatch to the appropriate units.
3.5 Cleans and maintains related equipment in designated areas. Checks the automated guided vehicles regularly and notifies supervisor of equipment requiring maintenance.
3.6 Sorts prepared clean linen and laundry carts for distribution using the automated guided vehicles. Dispatches the automated guided vehicles to the designated areas.
3.7 Receives soiled laundry and waste stream carts from automated guided vehicles and positions carts in designated areas for disposal of contents.
3.8 Transports empty soiled carts to the cart washer for reprocessing.
3.9 Sorts inbound and outbound mail to and from the Logistics Centre for processing.
3.10 Keeps work areas and equipment in a clean and tidy condition.
3.11 Performs other related duties as assigned.
